Former American President Barack Obama has a major reason to be proud. He won his first-ever Primetime Emmy Award on Saturday, for the Netflix docuseries “Our Great National Parks.”

RuPaul, who presented this category, accepted the 2022 Primetime Emmy Award on his behalf, and to very positive applause.

Obama is halfway to an EGOT, which is the achievement of having won all four of the major American entertainment awards (an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award). In 2009, he was honored with the coveted Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama was recognized as “Outstanding Narrator” for the “Our Great National Parks” episode that was titled “A World of Wonder,” according to his IMDb page. This episode explored Africa’s beaches, Japan’s island, as well as Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Aside for “Outstanding Narrator,” the docuseries “Our Great National Parks” was also nominated for “Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program.”

In the past, Obama won two Grammy Awards for “Best Spoken Word Album” for “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream” in 2008 and for “Dreams from My Father” back in 2006.

Obama was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2022 for “Best Spoken Word Album (Includes Poetry, Audio Books & Storytelling)” for “A Promised Land.”
