Hallmark star Tyler Hynes chatted about starring as Jake in his new film “A Picture of Her,” which will premiere on March 25.

On being a part of this upcoming movie, he said, “It was good. I think it’s a nice, warm movie that is going to scratch an itch that hasn’t been scratched in a while. It does that in a somewhat refreshing way. It’s a feel-good romance.”

“I think this is a nice romantic story that is in a nice romantic setting. It’s a fun return to that kind of experience,” he added.

In “A Picture of Her,” Beth (Rhiannon Fish) unwittingly becomes the subject of an award-winning magazine’s cover and goes on a quest to uncover the true identity of the mystery photographer who snapped her photo.

“I hope the fans have a good time with this movie, and it tickles them in a way that feels like something they were looking forward to,” he said.

Working with Rhiannon Fish

Hynes had great words about working with his co-star actress Rhiannon Fish. “Rhiannon is lovely, she is a really talented human being and a lovely person. She is thoughtful, intelligent, and capable. I know exactly what she did in this movie and these scenes.”

“Rhiannon is a skilled performer, and it was great to work with her as a lead in this movie. I am very fortunate and I think we will be seeing a lot more of her because she is a rare talent,” he said.

“The theme is that Rhiannon’s character helps my character realize that the world still values simple and beautiful, emotionally-provoking art,” he added.

This past December, Hynes shared that he enjoyed being a part of the RomaDrama Christmas event at the iconic Drake Hotel in Chicago, along with his Hallmark co-star Paul Campbell when they did their holiday movie “Three Wise Men and a Baby.” “That was beautiful and a really unique experience,” he said.

“Andrew Walker joined via Zoom, because he was filming in Canada, and we were all able to share that moment while watching the movie with the fans. That was a profound and distinct experience. It felt like being in your living room with all of your best friends and having those people react and respond to the movie in real time. That was a beautiful thing to witness and be a part of,” Hynes elaborated.

Favorite sports

On his favorite sports to watch or play, he responded, “I love playing tennis, it’s fun. I also like the tennis show on Netflix that came out, it’s really good. I also love to watch Formula 1.”

Fans

For his dedicated fans, the “Hynies,” he concluded, “I have the best fans. They are the ‘Hynies’ and the ‘Spicy Hynies,’ which are a group within a group, and the latter are a firecracker and a spark that lights the flame. They are the hardcore fans, and a rare and beautiful bunch. I am so grateful they exist and they have all the fun that they have.”
