Actor Tyler Harlow chatted about the new Hallmark film “Marry Me in Yosemite,” which premieres on Saturday, September 3rd. It was written and directed by Bruce Johnson.
Walt Disney once said: “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Actor Tyler Harlow is living proof of this wise quotation by the cartoon legend.
“This film was wonderful,” he admitted about his upcoming Hallmark movie. “To shoot in a place like Yosemite was awe-inspiring. It’s one of the wonders of the world, it really is. You really feel a spiritual sense there, it really has that gravity of power to it. To wake up every day and know that I was filming a movie at Yosemite was awesome.”
In “Marry Me in Yosemite,” Cindy Busby stars as Zoe, a notable photojournalist, who visits Yosemite landscapes made famous by Ansel Adams.
When she meets Jack (played by Tyler Harlow), an intriguing tour guide, he opens her eyes to new adventures as they embark on a journey.
Along the way, a romantic relationship begins to build between Jack and Zoe. Jack encourages her to look “inside the photos” to see what they reveal, while Zoe helps Jack appreciate the artistry she has achieved.
As stunning as many of her photographs are, Zoe wants to take “that one photo that will show I’m an artist, not just another photographer.” But will her desire for perfection cost her more in the end?
“My co-star Cindy was incredible,” he said. “This is my first Hallmark movie, and she was so generous, giving, and she was nothing but kind. The production team was wonderful too.”
“I think people will be in awe of how beautiful of a place Yosemite is, and hopefully, it inspires them to do their own adventuring and exploring. For the people that can’t, they can live vicariously through Zoe and Jack, and their adventures,” he said.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Harlow said, “Momentum.” “I worked very hard over the last five years in Los Angles, and it wasn’t an easy road but I feel momentum happening for me in some capacity,” he said.
The digital age
On being an actor in the digital age, Harlow said, “I am grateful, there is so good much content out there, so there are more opportunities. I feel encouraged by that as an actor. There is an abundance of platforms that you can access as an actor, and that’s a good thing.”
Later today, Harlow is looking forward to being featured in the “Suspenders Unbuttoned” podcast, which focuses on Hallmark stars. “It is coming up later today. I am really excited. Everyone has been really warm and receptive. I am flattered and humbled that people want to talk to me,” he said.
Harlow acknowledged that he is a huge Billy Joel fan. “My love for Billy Joel was cemented many years ago, there are so many beautiful songs that he has. The list of great songs in his repertoire goes on and on,” he said.
He concluded about “Marry Me in Yosemite,” “I hope this movie provides people with a deeper appreciation for the outdoors, and whatever that means for them. This movie will provide the visual components for the audience to be a third character in this movie.”
“I hope people find a place to hear a story about the marrying of the visual aesthetic of wilderness with the need to preserve and conserve these beautiful places. I hope they feel a deeper affinity for those things and be inspired to seek some solace out in the wilderness on their own,” he added.
