Actor and filmmaker Tyler Gallant discussed his new film “Maserati: The Brothers,” where he stars alongside Jessica Alba, Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia and Michele Morrone.
Directed by Bobby Moresco, “Maserati” chronicles the Maserati family’s journey, from its founding in 1914 to becoming a renowned Italian luxury car manufacturer, alongside rivals Ferrari and Lamborghini.
How was your experience doing “Maserati”?
Working on “Maserati: The brothers” has been a really fun and exciting experience and I’ve also learned a lot.
Getting to work on this epic true story period piece is an amazing experience in itself but then also getting to work in Rome, Italy, it’s truly incredible.
Working alongside such an incredible cast and crew is a great experience, so much talent and experience on this picture.
I have loved working with our oscar winning director, Bobby Moresco. Getting to work with him, learn from him and watching him work has been such a treat.
Our amazing production team lead by Andrea Iervolino and Oscar winner Gary Michael Walters has been such a pleasure to work with, it’s my second movie with them.
Finally, working on the picture alongside my amazing agent and producing partner at Eris Entertainment, Tina Contogenis has been awesome, we are a great team.
Also, on the picture from Eris we have the talented Victoria Sophia and Gina LaPiana.
What did you like most about your character?
I can’t say too much yet about my character but i have always wanted to do historical period piece film because of the atmosphere and wardrobe. Having those attributes really help you transform into the character and get creative.
I love getting to focus on the transformation into a character physically, energetically, creatively and mentally. It’s been very fun getting to play on these huge epic sets with the elaborate costumes and props in such an iconic city.

What drew you to this script and story?
The script is truly wonderful, it was one of those scripts that you can’t put down once you start reading it. I didn’t know the Maserati story prior to reading the script, so it was eye opening to me as well.
You really fall in love with the characters in this story and root them on as they build one of the most iconic car companies on the planet.
I loved the attention to detail in the script and how epic it felt to go along with being a period piece historical drama. I cannot wait for everyone to see it in theaters regardless if you’re a car fanatic or not.
What was it like working with this talented cast (Jessica Alba, Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia and Michele Morrone)?
It has been a truly wonderful experience. As an artist I loved seeing and learning from how these amazing artists all work and such a pleasure getting to be a part of it.
I have been a personal fan of Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia since I was a kid, so getting to experience them working their magic on set was wonderful.
Jessica Alba and Michele Morrone are a force on screen in this film as well. All in all it has been such a pleasure to work with all the incredible talent that has been cast in this film.
Were you a fan of Maseratis (the car) growing up?
Yes, I grew up a fan of cars as my dad is definitely a big car enthusiast. I always liked Maseratis, they always have had such a sleek look and their exhaust sounds amazing.
I have always loved the throaty growl of American muscle cars and Maseratis have a sound that’s a blend of European super cars and American muscle.
What did this screenplay teach you about yourself?
This screenplay and film has taught me to further be so grateful for every experience you get to have on each and every film. Every film I’ve been on I’ve met so many wonderful people, had so many lasting memories and learned so much.
This experience has furthered that notion as I learned more about a powerful historical story, the beautiful Italian culture and history.
I have truly fallen in love with Italy and its rich history.
What do you want our readers to get out of “Maserati” (What’s the one takeaway you want them to get)?
I hope the viewers look at the incredible perseverance and determination it took the Maserati brothers to accomplish their astonishing feats and hopefully get inspired.
These brothers went through extreme ups and downs and they took huge chances on their journey to create one of the most iconic car brands in the world.
I want viewers to hopefully be inspired to chase their dreams like the Maserati family did.
Finally, to be grateful for all the blessings that life brings us everyday as they come in many forms good and sometimes seeming bad in the moment. Everyday we wake up is a blessing.
