Country artist Tyler Farr chatted about his latest radio single “Coming to a Bar Near You,” fatherhood, and Buck Commander.

Throughout his career in the contemporary music scene, Farr is known for such smash country hit singles as “Redneck Crazy,” “Whiskey in My Water,” and “A Guy Walks into a Bar.”

‘Coming to a Bar Near You’ single

Regarding his new radio single, Farr remarked, “I am really excited about the new single. Even Jason Aldean, who is the older brother I never had, complimented me about it, and he told me that it’s the best that I put out since ‘A Guy Walks into a Bar.’  That was a really cool compliment.”

“We’ve literally been doing popup shows in Nashville promoting some things because things are very different than they used to be as far as how you put out music and how do things, and how the whole thing works. This is the first time I am doing this independently,” Farr explained.

“Coming to a Bar Near You” is comprised of catchy hooks and melodies, and it showcases Farr’s rich, raspy vocals. It is extremely radio-friendly, mid-tempo, and a great deal of fun.

Tyler Farr on fatherhood

On becoming a father, he shared, “I had a baby girl during the first year of COVID, and now she is four years old. I had put my first single with Jason Aldean, and then COVID hit three weeks after. That pretty much shut down that year, and the whole industry changed to streaming.”

“I wouldn’t know what I would do if I had to start my career right now. I would have no idea what the first step would be. We are in a different world now and I am trying to navigating it,” he said.

“During COVID and when my daughter was born, I had taken some time off from the business for good reasons, to be with my family and my daughter, who is gorgeous. My daughter is doing commercials for Cracker Barrel, and she is doing some modeling, so she is nothing like me,” he elaborated.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, he said, “S**t… Hold on, we’ll see.” “We are back,” Farr exclaimed.

Dream duet choices

He listed Adele, Carrie Underwood, and Ashley McBryde as his dream female duet choices in music.

Buck Commander

Farr is also a part owner of Buck Commander, alongside Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson.

“It is going good,” he exclaimed. “We had a good year this year. I hunt, I fish, and that’s what I do and what I love.”

“I went to college for Classical Vocal Performance, and I minored in Fish & Wildlife Management; that’s what I really wanted to do. I wanted to be in the outdoor industry, and it was cool to do this with Willie Robertson from ‘Duck Dynasty,’ who I’ve been friends with forever,” he elaborated.

Closing thoughts on his new single ‘Coming to a Bar Near You’

For his fans and listeners, Farr stated about the new single, “I put this new song out for the same reason I put ‘A Guy Walks into a Bar’ out.”

“I think it will relate to people in the same way that ‘A Guy Walks into a Bar’ connected with them. I put out songs for my country music fans; it’s as simple as that,” he concluded.
