Benard also described him as a “sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him.”

“Tyler was an advocate for better mental health and substance use treatment who openly spoke about his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol. We are beyond devastated by the loss of our dear friend and pray for his children and his father,” Benard remarked.

Final interview

Christopher’s last-ever interview was with this journalist titled “Conversations with Tyler Christopher.

In this chat, Christopher shared one of his favorite mottos to live by and that was: “Don’t Hold Back.” “That’s how I approach my work and when I am doing scenes, especially when they are difficult to perform. I trust my instincts, I don’t hold back and that gets me through it. This allows me to take chances in my scenes,” Christopher said.

Christopher had furnished his definition of success, which meant “going to work every day and making sure that you realize how grateful you are.”

The late actor was always very appreciative of his fans and supporters. “I am so grateful to have gone on this journey with the fans. At the end of the day, the show and the work, is not about you… it is about the fans… You perform for the fans, not yourself,” he told Digital Journal.

New York City fan event

His last fan event took place on September 30 and October 1st in New York City, which was hosted by CaliBx Experience. “We were grateful to have the opportunity to bring Tyler [Christopher] around his fans so he can feel the love and admiration held for him over 30 years,” said Veronica White of CaliBx Experience.

Jill Thomas, fan and attendee remarked, “Honestly I was truly thankful for the opportunity to meet him, getting to speak to the man behind the princely legend, and have just a few moments in time to thank him in person for all he has given to us fans.”

“Tyler was so kind, sweet, engaging, intelligent and very driven,” Thomas said. “Every bit who I thought he would be. I’m glad we all got to meet him. At breakfast, he told us that he was having a good day, and he enjoyed chatting with us. I’m glad we gave him that wonderful memory. In return, Tyler certainly gave us one memory to hold close in our hearts,” Thomas added.
