‘Saekano’ EP 2 is like ‘My Fair Lady’ for OCD otakus on crack

Episode two of Saekano: How To Raise A Boring Girlfriend, titled “A Girlfriend Without a Raised Flag,” is currently streaming on Crunchyroll for premium members. Free members can watch “A Girlfriend Without a Raised Flag” less than seven days from now.

It is difficult being leader as Tomoya learned when he had to recruit all of the essential members for Blessing Software.

I love how the characters are able to break the fourth wall at times.

Tomoya’s being blunt and telling Kato that she’s cute right to her face. At least he is being blunt about it and not beating around the bush.

I can see the appeal of Kato even though she does not see it in herself. She is the normal down-to-earth wholesome girl that many men desire because it adds the needed stability in their lives. Tomoya might ask out Kato in the future if he has the courage to do so.

Kato shocked me by telling Tomoya that he is one of the school’s “three celebrities.”

It was funny to watch Tomoya’s otaku nature come out when Kato called herself boring.

This is an example of how we disappoint ourselves in the future because we give in to our infatuations about things and people. We only set ourselves up for disappointment when we learn the truth about people we have affections for.

I don’t doubt Tomoya’s affections for Kato, but he’s so otaku that he’s detached from reality.

Things got awkwardly funny when Tomoya sees Utaha and Sawamura standing outside watching the conversation play out. I love Sawamura’s angry look on her face.

Sawamura’s jealousy shows, too.

This was a very enjoyable episode to watch, but God f—king d—n Tomoya needs to go out more. Tomoya is a young boy who has too many unrealistic expectations let alone forced upon Kato, who is new to everything.

I felt it was unfair for Tomoya to force his expectations upon Kato even when they spoke to each other the first time.

Tomoya would be a great fit with Tomoko Kuroki, the heroine of Watamote. The two of them have no clue of approaching the different gender outside romance simulators and they both seem to be neurotic in their own individual way.

I’m surprised that Kato remained calm and composed when dealing with Tomoya’s neurosis as other girls would have walked away.
