Canadian actor Tim Rozon of “Schitt’s Creek” chatted about his series “SurrealEstate,” where he stars alongside Sarah Levy, and his latest projects.
“I have been super good, super busy,” he admitted. “Last year, I was working so hard, I was only home for two weeks. I hadn’t been home for a long time.”
‘SurrealEstate’ series
He is so pumped about “SurrealEstate” Season 2, which will be coming on SYFY and Hulu later in the year. “I did a lot of projects this year, all of which were great, but ‘SurrealEstate’ Season 2 is the biggest news there is for me.”
“I can’t wait for people to see what we did in Season 2. I am reunited with my ‘Schitt’s Creek’ co-star Sarah Levy. That cast is such a good group and we have new people coming on the show this year,” he added.
‘Christmas in Wolf Creek’ film
“I almost died making this movie, so I am never going to forget it,” he said with a sweet laugh about “Christmas in Wolf Creek.” “I loved making both of those movies, they were great and super fun. My co-star Nola Martin was terrific.”
“I had a great time on those UPtv movies. Their production is fantastic, and they treat everyone great, and the movies are fun,” he added.
‘Purgatory Jack’
On starring in “Purgatory Jack,” he said, “That was amazing. I am waiting to see what is going to happen. The Butler Brothers who directed it are both incredible. I am really excited about ‘Purgatory Jack,’ it was one of my favorite experiences ever.”
“Emily Alatalo is great, we had worked together many years before,” he said. “Alexandra Beaton was also amazing to work with, and Joel Thomas Hynes, who starred in ‘Little Dog,’ was awesome in this film too. I had the best time on this independent movie. It was a fun crew and cast.”
Future projects
On his future projects, he shared, “I am excited about a new movie that I did. It was so great, and I am super excited. This was in a genre that I may have done before that I had been dying to get back to.”
‘Spread’ movie
Rozon is also looking forward to his new film “Spread,” where he worked alongside Oscar nominee Harvey Keitel (“Bugsy”) and lead actress Elizabeth Gillies. “That girl, Liz, is a powerhouse. She was from ‘Dallas,’ and she is really top-notch,” he exclaimed.
Fan conventions and events
Lately, he has been a part of multiple fan events and conventions, and he shared that he loves meeting his fans. “I am so lucky that I get to do a couple of those. They are so fun,” he acknowledged. “I have met a lot of ‘Schitt’s Creek’ fans, and a lot of Hallmark fans as well. I’ve heard some of the fan stories, I’ve laughed with them, and I’ve cried with them, and there has been a lot of hugging. I’ve seen a lot of sad and happy stories, and I’ve seen a lot of beautiful things.”
“I am so lucky because I get to see so many fans throughout the year now at these conventions,” he said. “That is just the best part of my year… meeting people and that is the best. People can stop me on the street any time they want, I have all the time in the world to talk to them about any of the characters I’ve played. It is really great.”
The digital age
On being an actor in the digital age, Rozon said, “It’s a double-edged sword. There are a lot of things to do and a lot of projects, which is great, but as a person who watches TV, I’m lost. It is almost too much for someone like me. There are just too many choices, and I spend the whole time on a streamer picking shows, like Uber Eats, where I never end up ordering anything, I just keep looking at different plates.”
Regarding the title of the current chapter of his life, he said, “Dad Life.” “Becoming a dad is the best thing I ever did,” he admitted.
