On Aug. 4 Associated Press reported the breakup of long time couple Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Announced at the biannual ABC panel for TV critics this unfortunate news is right before the anticipated new “The Muppets” TV show is to premier on Sept. 22, leaving some to worry about the how the long-time stars’ breakup will impact the show. According to the AP report “They’re vowing to remain professional on their new prime-time comedy.”
Both Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog made the official statement on Aug. 4 through their individual Twitter accounts “After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship. We will continue to work together on television (“The Muppets” Tuesdays 8/7c this fall on ABC) and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et, al. This is our only comment on this private matter… unless we get the right offer. Thank you for understanding.”
Miss Piggy Announced on Twitter on Aug.5 “Moi appreciates all the support after yesterday’s news. But what moi would REALLY appreciate is some ice cream. And gift baskets. Thanks!!” In light of the breakup the blokes from Thunder From Down Under, the world’s number one Male Revue, are eager to help Miss Piggy get over her ugly break up with Kermit the frog with more than just ice cream. The handsome men are speaking up with a YouTube video to officially invite Miss Piggy to come spend time with the guys to help her get over Kermit.
The video showcases four of the handsome Australian Thunder From Down Under guys taking off their shirts in an official invite for Miss Piggy to have a Vegas Girls Night Out personal experience with them. What girl would not want to take these wonderful guys up on their offer? After all there is ice cream to enjoy in Las Vegas as well. Miss Piggy would certainly get some help getting over Kermi enjoying a girls night out in Vegas and hanging out with Thunder. After all “What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.”
As far as the new “The Muppets” show hopefully the pair will put aside their differences and continue a peaceful working relationship in order for fans to enjoy the show. After all, star couples have split before and continued to work together. Sonny and Cher are perhaps the most famed duo to continue a successful television show after breaking up as a couple. Perhaps Kermit and Miss Piggy will have an even more flourishing mutual career if they do not have to worry about a romantic relationship with each other as well.
