The Who embark on first leg of North American headlining tour

They will be joined by special musical guests, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, which were just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as part of its Class of 2015.

Their tour is quite extensive and lead singer Roger Daltrey stated in his Rolling Stone Magazine interview that it will be the “last big tour” that the band will ever do. He wants them to stop at the top of their game, while they are still really good at what they do. He underscored the importance of “the quality of the music.”

New York fans can catch The Who on May 20 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale on Long Island, and at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on May 26. They will make stops at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on May 22, and at Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Connecticut on May 24. The first leg of their North American tour will wrap up on May 30 at Forest Hills Stadium in Forest Hills, New York.

The Who were inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, and they have sold over 100 million albums worldwide since they formed in 1964. The band’s original line-up included Daltrey on lead vocals, Pete Townshend on keyboards and guitar, John Entwistle on bass and Keith Moon on drums.
