The Lacs talk new album ‘Outlaw in Me’ and future plans (Includes interview)

Regarding their new album Outlaw in Me, Clay said, “I think it’s the best and most fun album we’ve ever made! I’m really proud of it. We really put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this one and can’t wait for the fans to hear it.”

On the song selection process for the album, Clay said, “Like we always do. We never really stop writing. Whether we are on tour or at home, we’re writing constantly. When we feel like we have enough songs, we pick our best 13.”

He listed “Back To GA” as his personal favorite song on the CD. “The theme is about going home. Sometimes, when you’ve been on the road for a long run, you can get a little homesick. There’s nothing like going home,” he said.

Their future plans include promoting Outlaw In Me for the foreseeable future. “We’re also always on the road. For us, it’s touring, touring, touring. I’m sure we’ll be in a city near you very soon,” he said.

The Lacs were influenced by a wide variety of musical inspirations which include the late Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr, Lynyrd Skynyrd and even Tupac.

Speaking of Hank Jr., the duo listed him as their dream duet choice. “We would love that,” Clay said.

The Lacs noted that a difference exists when they play live vs. recording in the studio setting. “I love the studio more because you’re creating something out of nothing. I love that process, but it’s so cool seeing fans sing what you’ve created at shows too,” he said.

For their fans, they concluded, “I really hope y’all enjoy this album as much as we enjoyed making it! Outlaw in Me comes out on May 26. More information is available on our website.”
