Telltale’s ‘Game of Thrones’ game coming ‘soon’

This new title will come from Telltale Games, known especially for its point-and-click Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us series.

While the Game of Thrones adaptation by Telltale was announced last year, this is the first time Telltale has given some sort of a time frame. A tweet from Telltale Monday morning says episode one of the new series will premiere “soon.”

The episode will be called “Iron From Ice” and is reportedly the first in a six-episode season. Previous seasons of Telltale games have been five episodes long.

In August, Telltale released a brief teaser, the first word on the game since its announcement. Previous tweets from Telltale indicate that Deepwood Motte, a castle in the North, will factor into the game. Also involved is House Forrester, a noble family sworn to the Glovers of Deepwood Motte. The Forresters have scarcely factored into the Song of Ice and Fire series, getting a brief mention in book five, A Dance With Dragons.

Those are the only details so far; other than a picture of the Iron Throne in Monday’s tweet from Telltale, there have been no screenshots or trailers featuring gameplay.

Telltale is keeping busy with a growing stable of point-and-click games; aside from The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, it’s also working on Tales From the Borderlands, a spin-off of the popular Borderlands franchise.
