This makes Swift the first female artist to win “Album of the Year” twice.
Swift began her speech by thanking her fans for all of their support over the last decade. She went on to thank all of her collaborators that worked with her on 1989, as well as her co-executive producer Max Martin. “As the first woman to win ‘Album of the Year’ at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there will be people along the way who will try to undercut your success,” Swift said. “Or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame, but if you just focus on the work, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. That will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment,” she added.
Aside from “Album of the Year,” Swift took home the Grammy awards for “Music Video of the Year” for “Bad Blood” and “Best Pop Vocal Album.” She also performed her new single “Out of the Woods.”
