Young actor Tait Blum chatted about starring in the series “The Last Frontier” on Apple TV.

Blum stars alongside Jason Clarke, Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, and Alfre Woodard.

Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote applies to Tait Blum, who is a revelation in “The Last Frontier.”

Experience making ‘The Last Frontier’

“The Last Frontier” follows Frank Remnick (Jason Clarke), the lone U.S. marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska. Remnick’s jurisdiction is turned upside down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates.

Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with far-reaching and devastating implications.

On his experience making “The Last Frontier,” he remarked, “It has been amazing! It has been quite a wild ride like the show.”

Playing Luke, the son of Jason Clarke’s character

On playing Luke, the son of Jason Clarke’s character, he said, “Jason is amazing! He has been doing this for so many years, and he is such a veteran.”

“I really loved picking his brain and being on set with him,” he admitted. “Jason is absolutely incredible! I think we look quite a bit alike too, so that’s nice. Our resemblance is almost uncanny.”

Lessons learned from this screenplay

On the lessons learned from this screenplay, Blum reflected, “It taught me that Luke is such a very brave character, and he is someone who values family so much. Luke is also a loyal character. I realize that through Luke especially that I understand a lot of things about myself.”

“I’m very loyal and I would perhaps have reacted the same way and he did because I care about my family so deeply,” Blum noted.

“This show brought me together with my family, and I feel that it’s a lesson in loyalty,” he acknowledged.

The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, Blum said, “I think it’s interesting! I guess I am one of the last generations in the fully digital age.”

“It can be a bit overwhelming at times; I have to get away, but I think it’s quite cool,” he added.

Advice for young and emerging actors

For young and aspiring actors, Blum said, “Rejection is not a bad thing. The more rejections you can take, the better you can handle that, and the better you’re going to be in the long run.”

“Grit is so important,” he underscored. “So, just keep pushing forward and continue to do the work; that’s so valuable.”

Future plans

Regarding his future plans, he shared, “I love making films and doing television so much, and I am just going to keep going whatever comes my way.”

“I’ll do whatever project I wind up loving in the same way that I loved this show. I think I’m going to see where the wind takes me, and I will continue to look for character-driven projects like this one,” he explained.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Blum revealed, “A New Beginning.”

Superpower of choice

Blum’s superpower of choice would be “flight.” “It would be so cool to fly,” he admitted. “I would be able to take off and go wherever I want without having to pay for a ticket.”

Success

On his definition of the word success, he expressed, “Being able to look back in 40 years and say that ‘I’ve told the stories that I want to tell,’ and that my family is completely taken care of. Also, the peace of mind that comes with that.”

Message to his fans

For his fans and supporters, Blum said, “First and foremost, I want to say that I love them! My fans are very loyal. I’m super excited to bring them more things to look forward to and to watch.”

Closing thoughts on ‘The Last Frontier’

“I just want the fans to have a really good time,” he exclaimed about “The Last Frontier.”

“I think that ‘The Last Frontier’ is such an entertaining and explosive show. It’s a fun, vibrant project and I want them to be able to sit back and enjoy it,” Blum concluded.
