Steven Tyler from Aerosmith inks country music record deal

Tyler had confirmed the released of a forthcoming solo studio album, while he appeared at the historic Grand Ole Opry stage. His new project will be released on Dot Records later in the year.

A press release from the label noted that there was an “immediate connection” with the rock superstar and the label’s CEO, Scott Borchetta. In his new album, Tyler will be tipping his hat to his country roots, especially since he grew up listening to the music of the Everly Brothers and the Carter Family.

The Big Machine Label Group is home to such acclaimed artists as Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, among many others.

As the lead singer of the legendary rock group, Aerosmith, they have sold in excess of 150 million records worldwide, and they are members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

More recently, in 2013, Tyler was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and he has garnered nine No. 1 hit singles, as well as country multi-platinum album certifications.
