Acclaimed actress Stacy Haiduk chatted about her 2023 Daytime Emmy nomination for “Days of Our Lives.”
She is known for playing the roles of Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks on the hit Peacock drama series “Days of Our Lives.”
On April 29, Haiduk participated in a virtual fan event for Spectrum Celebrity Events, which benefits the charitable organization True Colors United, for an intimate group of fans.
This marks Haiduk’s third career Daytime Emmy nomination, and her second consecutive nod for her acting work in “Days of Our Lives.” “I appreciate the Emmy nomination,” she acknowledged.
Haiduk is nominated in the “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” category alongside such actresses as Krista Allen (“The Bold and The Beautiful”), as well as “General Hospital” actresses Kelly Thiebaud, Brook Kerr, and the late Sonya Eddy.
When asked what she submitted in her Emmy reel, she revealed, “There was one group of scenes that I really liked but it wasn’t long enough, it the Susan Banks scenes where Xander (Paul Telfer) pulls a gun on her and is ready to kill her, and she has to pray to the heavens above for a miracle to happen.”
“I used those scenes, and then, I included a scene with Chad (Billy Flynn) and Kristen, and a little bit of Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen. My Emmy reel was a mix of all of those scenes,” she said with a sweet laugh.
Speaking of Chad, she praised his portrayer Billy Flynn, who plays her onscreen half-brother. Flynn is also nominated for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.” “It was fun working with Billy, we all love Billy. I was really happy for his nomination as well,” she admitted.
“I don’t get to work with Billy very much so when we had that scene together, I really loved it, and it was a great moment to reconnect, especially after Kristen kidnapped his onscreen wife, Abigail, and then she passed on from a horrible murder. It’s a soap opera, so yo need these extreme storylines,” she said.
