Actress Sonia Satra chatted about her new book “What If It Were Easy: Using Movement & Mindset to Create Success in Life, Love, and Business.”
She is known for her acting roles in such daytime dramas as “Guiding Light” and “One Life to Live.”
Inspiration to write the book
On her inspiration to write this book, she said, “I’ve been coaching for a lot of years, and I created this thing that combines coaching with exercise. I really wanted a way to put it out in the world in a bigger way, especially to help more people.”
“By writing this book, you push up against all of your vulnerability,” she said. “Even though it is scary to put yourself out there in that way, and so, it was a constant effort to be brave. I learned a lot about reviewing my own stories and really, it was an important reminded to step outside of your comfort zone, and to really go for what you really want.”
The digital age
On being an author in the digital age, she said, “It is so funny, I had a box of books and it took me a week to open them because I didn’t think they would be for real. When I did open them, it was fun. It’s exciting, and in addition to a hard copy version, we have an online version for fans and readers. I will also be doing an audiobook too.”
Success
On her definition of the word success, Satra said, “Success means being in alignment with your core (who it is that you really are, and what it is that you really want), and just enjoying the ride. I think it’s important to really have fun and to be happy at the same time, especially when you are going for something that is meaningful to you.”
Closing thoughts on her new book
For her fans, she concluded about the book, “I want readers to really follow their hearts, as well as to take chances in order to follow their dreams.”
