Tobia remarked, “I have a new CD that I released in the summertime, and it was getting some nice attention. I got a Top 10 nod from Alternate Root Magazine, which is a significant acknowledgement for my brand of music. I had that happen, and a review from Tupelo, declaring it my best CD yet. It has been a nice ride ever since, and it has been moving nicely.”
Regarding his plans for the future, he said, “Musically, this isn’t something I have a choice about. I have plans for another album in the works, that should be out in 2016 or early 2017. I don’t ever suffer from writer’s block, so I am not lacking material in any way.”
Tobia listed esteemed songstresses Lucinda Williams and Beth Hart as his dream female duet choices, both of which he praised for their enormous talent and vocal abilities. “I feel so much emotion in Lucinda’s vocal. It is so raw and it seems so sincere and real,” he said. “Beth Hart on the other hand, is the most famous person that nobody knows of, but she is worth checking out. She has got a big, full and bluesy voice.”
