Sick of Sarah’s Abisha Uhl talks ‘Anthem’ album and tour (Includes interview)

Regarding their new album, Uhl said, “I love all the songs on this EP. It has been a long time coming. We had to get our stuff together. We were dealing with the parting of our label, and then trying to establish ourselves again.”

She listed “Blind” as her favorite track on the new project, due to its “obscure and weird” lyrics.

A Minneapolis all-female rock band, Sick of Sarah has a new bassist, Alexa Wolfe, whom Uhl describes as a “heavy hitter.” “Alexa is on tour with us and she is really good. Alexa is a firecracker on stage,” she said.

Most recently, on April 17, they performed at Bowery Electric in New York City, as part of their “Place Your Bets” spring tour. “It was an amazing show,” she said. “We did mostly the new songs, and a few others, including ‘Overexposure,’ ‘Bittersweet’ and ‘Autograph.'”

Her high-energy live shows have earned her comparisons to a young version of Joan Jett, which was extremely flattering for Uhl. “That is pretty cool. I definitely love Joan Jett. It doesn’t get much better than that. She is so good,” she said.

Uhl had nothing but the kindest remarks for Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart on their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction two years ago. “Heart is the best. They deserve that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognition,” she said.
