Actress Sasha Neboga chatted about being a part of the thriller “Knox Goes Away” and the digital age.

‘Knox Goes Away’ movie

On her experience in the film, she said, “It was nothing short of positive. It has set a high standard for future on-set work. Exciting, collaborative, supportive, and high spirits all around.”

“My first day on set, the PAs were celebrating what I believe was a Samoan soccer match win, by cooking a full BBQ for everyone. The atmosphere immediately felt like family, this was consistent with every crew and cast member I had the pleasure of working with,” Neboga elaborated.

Working with a cast such as Al Pacino and Michael Keaton

Neboga opened up about working with a cast that features Al Pacino and Michael Keaton.

“This was an experience I will treasure for the rest of my life, and the two were such gentlemen,” she said.

“Being able to observe them in their craft provided so much enrichment for me, as I’m sure it would for anyone,” she added.

Working with Michael Keaton as a director

On working with Michael Keaton as a director, she said, “It was absolutely brilliant. As a person, he seems to possess so much zest for life, being around him makes you feel motivated and inspired.”

“I think because he’s been in the industry for as long as he has, he places tremendous trust in everyone to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. It’s freeing in a way I haven’t experienced,” she said.

“Yes, we had a tight schedule and marks were placed, but beyond that his door was always open for any new ideas and contributions. He does a great job of making you feel respected and providing confidence to work alongside him without any fear of insecurity or intimidation,” she elaboraetd.

The digital age

On being an actress in the digital age, she said, “It is both exciting and challenging. Challenging, because I personally lean towards being an introvert, I don’t enjoy everyone knowing everything about me. Maybe I just want to be mysterious.”

“With streaming platforms, technology, and social media, there are definitely more opportunities to showcase our work and connect with audiences than ever before, and I’m grateful for creators that do!

Advice for young and aspiring actors

For young and aspiring actors, she responded, “Don’t listen to my advice! From my experience, everyone has their own unique formula and journey. Listen to the people and moments that make you feel honored and genuinely good.”

“Don’t be afraid to stumble, we all have to learn to walk before we can run. Pick yourself up and keep growing,” she said.

Dream acting partners

When asked about her dream acting partners, she said, “For my father, Sir Patrick Stewart. For my Samoan fiancé and his family, Dwayne Johnson.”

“Being an immigrant and coming from a limited network in this country, I love having the ability to serve as a gateway for those I love deeply, it makes the experience that much more magical when the people you care about are so excited. That being said, I’m at peace and happy to work with all like-minded creatives,” she elaborated.

Success

On her definition of the word success, she said, “Success, to me, means an inner sense of peace and fulfillment. It’s subjective in its physical form, though at the core, I believe the visceral feeling is the same for everyone.”

“For some, this can be a creative pursuit, a sought-after promotion, or even just getting food on the table. It’s entirely different for everyone based on their experiences and influences,” she elaborated.

Closing thoughts on ‘Knox Goes Away’

She remarked about the film, “It centers around a hitman, Knox, played by Michael Keaton, who has one last job to finish while facing the diagnosis of rapid onset severe memory loss.”

“Categorized as a noir thriller, I believe the film’s true depth lies in its cinematic exploration of more significant themes such as facing one’s own decline, the importance of family, and redemption. The one thing I would want audience members to take away, is the value of time and family,” she concluded.
