Actor Sarunas J. Jackson chatted about his new film “GATLOPP,” which will be available on Digital and On Demand on June 23, 2022, via XYZ Films.

“GATLOPP” was written by Jim Mahoney and directed by Alberto Belli; moreover, it encompasses elements of supernatural and comedy. In the film, Jackson plays the role of Troy. “It was hard work but it was fun,” he admitted. “I was just happy that they wanted me to be a part of it.”

“This dark comedy allowed me to show my comedic chops, and also there were challenges within the film that were presented to me that I will probably never be able to do again so I was excited to do a script like this. It was just exciting,” he added.

Aside from Jackson, it stars Jim Mahoney, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jon Bass, Shelley Hennig, John Ales, and Amy Davidson. “I loved the cast, we still communicate to this day,” he said.

The synopsis of the film is as follows: a group of old friends reunites for a nostalgic evening of fun and games after a decade apart. After one too many, they decide to play a drinking game, but it’s quickly revealed that this game comes with supernatural stakes. Mischief leads to mayhem, and the group realizes that if they can’t come together to win the game by sunrise, they will be forced to play for eternity — in hell.

“This movie will inspire you to be honest and truthful because what is done in the dark will come to light. Be loyal to your friends, your family, and yourself. When you lie, you are not only hurting other people, you are hurting yourself too. Authenticity cannot be faked so be truthful,” he added.

For young and aspiring actors, he said, “The village around you is very important, especially to have a positive and supportive group where there is no envy, negativity, sorrow, or jealousy.”

“There is an African proverb that says ‘if you want to go far, go together. If you want to go fast, go alone.’ I want to go far and I want to go with my people. I think there are enough opportunities for everyone. It’s a good thing to have a supportive village around you,” he added.

On the title of the current chapter of his life, he said, “Elevate.”

He listed Nicole Beharie, Paul Dano, and Will Smith, as his dream acting partners. “Nicole Beharie is fantastic, brilliant, authentic, grounded, and so strong,” he said. “I’ve been a fan of Paul Dano’s for years now.”

If he were to have any superpower, he revealed that it would be “to be telekinetic” since that would help him in such sports as basketball and gulf.

Jackson defined the word success as “when you are satisfied.” “I am happy working and doing something that I am passionate about and I am able to make a living and support my loved ones,” he said.
