Sander van Doorn talks ‘The Rhythm’ and Lavo show in New York (Includes interview)

On his new track, “The Rhythm,” he said, “The original record from Blaze, containing the vocal I used for ‘The Rhythm,’ was part of my record collection for quite some time. While I was working on the track in the studio I had the feeling something was missing and I was looking for that certain element that could bring everything together and make it a track that sticks in your head. Once I came across that particular record in my collection I immediately knew this was the vocal I need.”

For Sander, Miami Music Week was another great experience this year. “Miami was incredible. It’s always a pleasure to be back in Miami, especially during the Miami Music Week. It’s great to see so many familiar faces and share the passion for electronic dance music. Ultra-festival was unbelievable. I played at the ASOT (A State of Trance) Stage where I introduced the people in Miami to my alter ego Purple Haze for the very first time. It was awesome and the people seemed to truly embrace this other side of me,” he said.

He also had nothing but the greatest words about his EDC experience in Japan. “Every time I’m in Japan it’s such a refreshing experience. I love it there. It has such a rich culture with so many interesting people and things to do and see. The electronic music scene in Japan is one of a kind and the fans always seem super excited to see me play. I always try to give the fans the time of their lives while on the dance-floor and create these special moments they won’t soon forget,” he said.

Sander revealed that he will be back in New York on June 10 for a show at Lavo Nightclub. “The festival season is starting soon so my schedule is filled with amazing festival that will see me travelling all over the world. Everyday there are new gigs added so keep an eye out for things to come,” he said.

In the upcoming months, Sander will be travelling a lot across the globe for all the upcoming festivals. “I’ve got some great gigs coming up where I’ll be performing as my alter ego: Purple Haze, which I’m super stoked about; being able to show this different side of me to all my fans. I’ll also have some new music coming up and I’ll be spending some more time in the studio with every chance I get,” he said.

He noted that prior to becoming a full-time DJ/Producer, he was studying Business Economics and shared that he would probably have ended up working at his brother’s company. “But who knows, it’s hard to tell how things might have gone, or who I would be if it wasn’t for this music career. I’m happy with how my life is going,” he said.

For his fans, the acclaimed DJ concluded, “First of all, I would like to say thank you to all my fans from around the globe for all your never ending support and being such loyal fans. I want to thank you for all these incredible moments we shared together and for the ones that are about to come. I also like to thank you for being able to share this musical journey with you guys. It’s been such an incredible ride so far and it’s only getting better! There is some great stuff on the horizon that I can’t wait to share with all of you.”
