A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group, Heart reissued Dreamboat Annie on June 17 in the United States and Canada, just in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their breakthrough studio album, which consists of such classic hits as “Magic Man,” “Crazy On You,” “White Lightning and Wine,” as well as its title track. That musical effort was released on the independent record label, Mushroom Records, in August of 1975.
The album was released following the success of their sophomore single, “Magic Man,” which is an autobiographical tune about Ann leaving home for Vancouver to pursue a romance. They were subsequently able to open for Rod Stewart, and the album reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 all-genre charts, and was certified platinum.
This July, Heart will be touring with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
In 2013, Ann and Nancy were inducted into the coveted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they have served as pioneers for women and aspiring female rockers in the genre.
