Actor Robert Maaser chatted about starring in the new series “The Black Dagger Brotherhood,” which will premiere on the streaming service Passionflix on June 5th.

Actor Robert Maaser chatted about starring in the new series “The Black Dagger Brotherhood,” which will premiere on the streaming service Passionflix on June 5th.

The series, directed by Tosca Musk, focuses on a society (the “Black Dagger Brotherhood”) of vampire warriors that live together and defend their race against de-souled humans called lessers. 

It is based on the famed paranormal romance book series, which were written by New York Times bestselling author J.R. Ward

On starring in “The Black Dagger Brotherhood,” he remarked, “It was challenging, exhausting, but ultimately, a big honor. So yeah, it has been a fun ride.”

Playing Wrath

On playing his character Wrath, Maaser stated, “For me, who doesn’t want to play a vampire warrior, and I get to be the king? So yeah, it was great.”

“I love the stillness of Wrath. I like that,” he added.

Working with Olivia Applegate and Michael Roark

Maaser had great words about working with his leading lady Olivia Applegate (whom he has known for a while), as well as Michael Roark. “Olivia is great,” he admitted.

“I just met Michael on set, but it was a fun time. He is a great guy and it was a great working with him. It was fun. He is a great actor and colleague,” Maaser said.

Lessons learned from this screenplay

On the lessons learned from this screenplay, he shared, “You learn something with every project, but especially with this one, I learned a lot about myself being an actor.”

“Like I said, it was challenging and exhausting, but ultimately very special and an honor. The experience was great; you just had to go for it,” he added.

Advice for young and emerging performers

For young and aspiring actors and performers, Maaser said, “Just don’t stop! That’s it.”

The digital age

Maaser went on to share his true thoughts on the digital age. “I just try to stay away from it. That’s just my strategy because I don’t want to be distracted,” he admitted.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “Building an Empire”

Superpower of choice

Maaser listed “flying” as his superpower of choice. “I’ve been thinking about that a lot… I would love to fly,” he said.

Success

Regarding his definition of the word success, Maaser said, “To be able to do what I love, and to choose what I get to do.”

Message for the fans

For his fans and supporters, he concluded about the new series, “I hope the fans have fun with it. That’s what we are doing it for… for the fans. I hope viewers stream it on Passionflix on June 5th.”
