Review: Yanni mesmerizes on new radio single ‘Desert Soul’ (Includes first-hand account)

Desert Soul” is a track from his forthcoming studio album, Sensuous Chill, which will be released on Jan. 29. It will be followed by a nationwide tour that begins this spring, as well as a PBS special which was filmed at the Great Pyramids of Egypt.

Throughout his respected career in the music industry, Yanni has performed in over 40 countries, and he has earned over 35 platinum and gold albums. His live shows has been broadcast to over 500 million people in over 100 countries worldwide. His music videos on YouTube have accumulated over 380 million views this year alone; moreover, he is the only private citizen to have received a panda from the government of China, whom he named Santorini.

While this new album is a departure may be different than his previous musical work, it showcases his ability to challenge himself and reinvent his sound. It has a calming and laid-back vibe to it, and similar to his previous tracks, “Desert Soul” transports the listener to different realms.

The Verdict

Overall, Yanni’s new song “Desert Soul” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars, and it is a substantial indication that his new album should be very promising.
