Episode eight of World Break: Aria of a Curse for a Holy Swordsman, titled “The Demon Sword and the Holy Sword,” is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, FUNimation, and Hulu for paid subscribers. Free members can watch this same episode six days from now on March 8th.
Shizuno has started some major s—t and stirred the hive after she fought Lesya, a force to be reckoned with. I guess this was the best way to expose Lesya as being a “maneater,” a trained assassin,” on a mission to snuff out Moroha.
I do have to point out, yet again, Lesya is an example that Russian women are often stereotyped as trained assassins in Japanese anime. At least she is not stereotyped as having blonde hair and blue eyes though.
Things get awkward when Moroha and Satsuki invite themselves to Lesya’s apartment even though the former knows that he is marked for assassination. I couldn’t contain my laughter when Satsuki nonchalantly opened Lesya’s window, too.
It was funny to see Lesya gag on Satsuki’s cooking as she almost choked on the risotto. If Lesya doesn’t fall to Shizuno’s magic, then she could probably fall to Satsuki’s cooking. I am guessing that Lesya doesn’t care much for spicy food.
Maya takes the cake in the episode by telling Lesya that she is “future harem personnel.”
I find it funny that Maya is staking her claim to Moroha in the future and it shows that Moroha’s personal harem is building quite nicely. Personally, I think he needs to compare notes with Thor Kokonoe from Absolute Duo because that guy’s building a nice harem of his own, too.
The second half of the episode turns awesome as Moroha is fighting Lesya in the park.
Satsuki is also busy with her own battle, against Sophie, because the US branch is using Moroha to remove Lesya from the picture. Moroha and Lesya’s fight was incredibly serious while Satsuki and Sophie’s fight was entertaining.
I suspect that Sophie will join in Moroha’s harem because of her large chest and that she’s America.
Harems need a few foreign women as Lesya and Sophia fit the requirements perfectly.
Shizuno’s revelation about Lesya’s “brother” makes it easier for the latter to join in Moroha’s growing harem.
It was a great episode to watch because I felt that Lesya added “variety” to the harem as it would be boring if it was just Satsuki and Shizuno. S—t has gotten real as Vasilisa, Russia’s Lightning Emperor, has marked Moroha for death.
