Review: Waterloo Revival refreshing on new single ‘Bad For You’

It is no wonder that they made Rolling Stone Country’s list of “10 New Artists You Need To Know.” Waterloo Revival is comprised of Texas natives George Birge (on lead vocals and guitar) and Cody Cooper (on guitar and background vocals), and they are signed to Big Machine Records.

From a lyrical standpoint, the single is clever, funky and infectious, and their harmonies are strong and filled with twang. George’s vocals are slightly reminiscent of Adam Levine from Maroon 5.

They show their fans how to have a good time on their flirty music video for “Bad For You,” which was filmed outside of Nashville, and directed by Brian Lazzaro. It is quite witty, since the duo goes on an adventure after their truck breaks down outside a fruit stand, and it shows them making the best out of that situation.

The Verdict

Overall, Waterloo Revival’s “Bad For You” single is uplifting, aggressive but a great deal of fun. Their harmonies blend well together. For anybody who is unfamiliar with their music, this song is a great introduction to their craft and artistry. Expect big things in country music from Waterloo Revival in the future. “Bad For You” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
