Review: Waterloo Revival glorious on Little Big Town ‘Better Man’ cover (Includes first-hand account)

They were backed solely by two acoustic guitars, one of which was played by band member Cody Cooper, and they belted out a superb rendition of Little Big Town’s “Better Man” thanks to George Birge’s powerhouse voice. They are able to form a strong connection with the song’s lyrics, and that will resonate well with their listening audience.

“I know I’m probably better off on my own, Than loving a man who, didn’t know what he had when he had it,” George Birge sings in the opening verse, before Cody Cooper joins him on harmony vocals on the remaining voice.

The Verdict

Overall, Waterloo Revival is simply divine on “Better Man.” They are able to make country group Little Big Town proud for covering it, as well as global music star Taylor Swift proud as a songwriter, since she was the sole writer of the country tune. George Birge and Cody Cooper have been consistently great with all the new music they have been putting out, including their cover songs. One thing’s for sure. They are not in Texas anymore. This version of “Better Man” by Waterloo Revival garners an A rating.
