EMI Records Nashville recording artist Tyler Hubbard released his eponymous breakthrough solo album, and it is quite compelling.

He wrote or co-wrote all songs on the 18-track album, which was produced by Hubbard and Jordan Schmidt. It features the No.1 hit single “5 Foot 9,” which was certified platinum by the RIAA.

The album opens with his latest single, the catchy “Dancin’ In The Country,” and it is followed by his autobiographical “5 Foot 9” and “Baby Gets Her Lovin’,” which is one of the songs that he claimed as his personal favorite on this collection.

Other highlight songs include the love ballad “Me For Me,” “Paradise,” and “Small Town Me,” where he pays homage to his roots.

Equally noteworthy is “By The Way,” which proves that he and his co-writers Corey Crowder and Canaan Smith are some of the most underrated country songwriters and musicians out there.

After “Leave Me Alone,” it closes with the poignant “Miss My Daddy” and on a fitting note with “Way Home,” which is one of the greatest tunes on the album.

“I’m incredibly grateful this day has come, and extremely excited for the fans to hear this album,” Hubbard remarked.

“I’m thankful to all the co-writers and my producer, Jordan Schmidt, who helped make this a reality. Most artists don’t get the chance to release a second ‘first’ album, and I’m ready for everyone to experience this music we’ve worked so hard on,” Hubbard elaborated.

The Verdict

Overall, Tyler Hubbard shines on his breakthrough solo studio offering. Every song on here has its own identity, and there is something in it for everybody. There are no filler tracks on here, thus making it hard to select a favorite recording. It deserves to debut at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums charts.

With this musical effort, he is able to show his audience a different side to his artistry than what most people have been used to from his Florida Georgia Line music.

Hubbard is not afraid to be raw, sincere, and vulnerable, and that will certainly resonate with his listeners. It garners two thumbs up.
