Country recording artist Ty Myers released his new studio album “Heavy on the Soul” via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia.
It opens with the mellow sultry ballad “Morning Comes” and it is followed by “Me Neither,” which has a neat groove to it, and the soaring “Pedestal.”
He continues with the spitfire “Don’t You Know” and the poignant ballad “Message to You,” which has a Lanco vibe to it and will certainly drench listeners in a wide spectrum of emotions. The same holds true for “Leaving Carolina.”
He is all heart on soul on “Come On Over, Baby” and equally noteworthy are the pensive “Woman” as well as the stirring “Through a Screen,” whose subject matter is relevant and relatable (especially in this digital age).
Marcus King and Myers join forces on the powerhouse duet “Two Trains.”
After the nonchalant “Gone Too Long,” it closes with the unapologetic “Bad Guy” and on a fitting note with the refreshing “Good Morning Paris,” where he leaves his listeners yearning to hear more.
His rich, resonant vocals are reminiscent of Tyler Childers meets John Mayer with the soulfulness of Ray LaMontagne. It is evident that Ty Myers has an old musical soul.
