“Two Tickets to Paradise,” starring Ryan Paevey and Ashley Williams, is a neat Hallmark film that was shot on location in Oahu. It will premiere on Saturday, June 25, on the Hallmark Channel.

Ashley Williams, Ryan Paevey (“General Hospital” fame), and Mary-Margaret Humes (“Dawson’s Creek” fame) star in the new original movie “Two Tickets to Paradise.” This is a part of the network’s annual “Summer Nights” programming event.

Synopsis of the film

Two strangers meet on what feels like the worst day of their lives. Hannah Holt (Ashley Williams) and Josh Wyatt (Paevey) have both just been stood up at the altar, and as chance would have it, sit down next to each other in the park.

Meeting each other turns out to be the morale boost they need to commit to taking their honeymoon vacations as they try to turn lemons into lemonade. Soon after they embark, they realize they have landed at the same honeymoon resort and keep crossing paths in a tropical paradise, which is quite serendipitous.

Josh introduces Hannah to his friend from the past, Alice (Mary-Margaret Humes), who lives on the island and shares her wisdom with the heartbroken duo. Seeing
the futility of fighting fate, Hannah and Josh eventually join forces and help learn from one other to enjoy their vacations.

Two Tickets to Paradise” was elegantly directed by Dustin Rikert. Tracy Andreen and Kevin P. Taf co-penned its impressive screenplay.

Of course, the film would have not been complete without the classic Eddie Money tune “Two Tickets to Paradise” playing a couple of times, which was an added treat.

Ryan Paevey is charming as Josh Wyatt (who does subtle acting quite well in this role), and Ashley Williams delivers as the insatiable and bubbly Hannah. Mary-Margaret Humes is the much-needed voice of reason as Alice.

Watching Ashley Williams in “Two Tickets to Paradise” was like listening to quality country-pop music, and she was our Martina McBride (“This One’s for the Girls”).

Most recently, on June 23, actors Ashley Williams and Ryan Paevey had a “Sneak Peak” preview of “Two Tickets to Paradise” at RomaDrama Live! in Florida for an intimate group of fans, which was well-received as well.

The Verdict

Overall, “Two Tickets to Paradise” is the quintessential Hallmark movie to kick off the summer holiday season. The acting performances are memorable, and the movie will certainly help provide an escape for fans and viewers (especially during the trying times that the world is going through these days). It garners two thumbs up.
