Review: Tritonal superb at Electric Zoo, dedicate a track to Texas (Includes first-hand account)

Their songs were upbeat and fun, and they encouraged the hands to get their hands to the sky as they were jumping along with them.

“We are from Texas. We want to dedicate a tune to the people home in Texas. On three, I want to hear ya’ll sing. We love you Texas,” they said, mid-way through their set, and it garnered a raucous response (especially since their home state of Texas was devastated by Hurricane Harvey).

It was great to hear a remix of Coldplay and The Chainsmokers’ smash collaboration “Something Just Like This,” which stole the show. “Your hands in the sky! Let’s go,” they exclaimed.

Equally stunning was Tritonal’s live version of “Getaway,” which featured crisp vocals from Angel Taylor. “Everybody jump,” they screamed.

They continued with “Now or Never,” a collaboration with the breathy voice of Phoebe Ryan. “Let me hear you sing it. Let’s go, New York City,” they said. “One night, Electric Zoo 2017,” they shouted.

The highlight track of their set was “Until You Were Gone,” their gorgeous collaboration with Emily Warren and The Chainsmokers. It was one of those songs that one would want to have on repeat all day. Their set at Electric Zoo 2017 garnered an A rating.
