Review: Time to face ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 — Teaser Trailer

(*Spoilers*)

It isn’t everyday that a show consumes the masses weekly and without fail, bringing together a common audience world wide. HBO and its popular fantasy/drama Game of Thrones has the formula for this down pat. Known for their knack at cutting spellbinding trailers, the latest morsel of fan bait from the popular cable channel has gone viral in the way of a blood chilling new teaser which depicts those fallen characters we grew to love — and hate. Talking to you, Joffrey. Leaked early online, the trailer came as a Valentine’s Day treat for many. Although, it would may have been more suitable for Halloween viewing.

A cue of ominous music plays faintly as a swooping camera zooms toward creeping pillars of masks lit by candlelight. The faces become familiar as each mask is bathed in a soft glow, echoed by the voice of the fallen characters. Beautifully crafted, this is a promo worth multiple viewings on all counts. The meager runtime of 1 minutes 19 seconds, albeit brief, leaves the viewer yearning for more.

Featuring the “faces” of past favorites such as Ned Stark (Sean Bean), Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), this trailer will be a nice little tide over for any fan. With longer, more spoiler-filled spots sure to drop in the near future, HBO will keep us guessing until the premier of Game of Thrones Season 6 on April 24, 2016. Click below and check out the trailer for yourself. May I suggest dimming the lights down for this one. Enjoy.
