Review: Thomas Dale plays at Governor’s Comedy Club at The Brokerage (Includes first-hand account)

Comedian Meghan Hanley served as the host for the evening, and she was able to warm up the stage, along with fellow comedian Greg Stone, both of which delivered clever opening sets.

As Dale took the stage, he was met with a warm reception from the Bellmore audience. He opened up about being “bipolar” and “bigender,” which he clarified that it should not be confused with “transgender.” He noted that as “bigender,” he uses both sides of his brain, which could be “schizophrenia,” yet it doesn’t sound as bad.

He spoke about his posture needing improvement and shared that he wants to “evolve as a person,” and subsequently “grow more.” He poked fun at tattooed guys, one of which was an audience member named Frank, and another fan, who had dimples. “I love being a dude,” Dale said.

Dale’s comedic set involved more jokes that pertained to sexuality, as well as sexual jokes (including one about a popcorn fantasy), and he opened up about being ADHD. “When I got sober, I got fat,” he acknowledged. He also mentioned that he can’t go to “AA meetings,” so instead, he would eat candy at night, which would consist of Reese’s peanut butter cups and M&M’s.

He also spoke about how frightened he was about having “colorectal cancer” that he went to get CAT scans, bloodwork, and colonoscopies to prove otherwise. Fortunately, they all came back negative.

The fan favorite portion of the show was when he spoke about his dog, “Truth,” which seemed to have his own fan-base. “Dogs make me happy,” he admitted. He shared that he is obsessed with his dog and does everything for him, and considers him his “baby.”

Overall, Thomas Dale was funny and entertaining at the Governor’s Comedy Club at The Brokerage. It is no wonder that Dale is one of stand-up comedy’s fastest-rising stars. He performs regularly at New York’s most popular comedy clubs, and he has made appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and Chelsea Lately. His set at The Brokerage garnered two thumbs up.
