Review: This soap star will melt your heart with Eric Church cover (Includes first-hand account)

Aside from being an acclaimed actor in the daytime soap world, he is also a rising country singer-songwriter. Young really captures the rawness of the lyrics of “Like Jesus Does,” and he showcases his rumbling baritone vocals; moreover, Young is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability as a recording artist, and his delivery is haunting. The original tune by Eric Church is a country ballad, where the male narrator sings about his female lover accepting him for who he is, and loving him like Jesus does. Young does this song justice, as he sings the lyrics with heart and conviction.

Thus far, this year, Young has released the following songs on iTunes: his breakthrough single “Better Than a Love Song,” “Fool For You” and the upbeat “Whiskey Kiss.”

Young’s music in general is recommended for fans and listeners of such country stars as Kip Moore, Eric Church, Easton Corbin, Charles Esten, and Joe Nichols, among others. Young has that neo-traditionalist country vibe in his voice, and he manages to keep his music fresh and relevant.

Earlier this month, Young participated in the 2018 CMA Music Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.

His latest track “Whiskey Kiss” is available on iTunes.
