Episode 12 of The Testament of Sister New Devil, titled “For This Night, For This Moment,” is currently streaming on Crunchyroll for paid subscribers. Free subscribers can watch this same episode six days from now on April 1st.
Zolgia reveals his treachery by disguising a large beast from the underworld as his secret force, which now threatens to devour the entire world. It is safe to say that Zolgia is a megalomaniac, who wants to dominate the underworld and the human world. I wish that Takigawa aka Lars would just kill Zolgia and be done with it.
Yuki decides to stay behind to fend off the growing number of enemies, but I love how she plans to survive because she refuses to allow Mio to have Basara all to herself. I laughed when Yuki implied that she was perfectly fine with being in a “harem.”
This is like threesome and reverse-bang speak.
Things get more interesting when they discover a bunch of half-completed Zest clones, but it was shocking when Zest revealed that she was created by Zolgia. It reminded me of the anime series Baccano!, where Ennis revealed that she was a homunculus created by the series’ antagonist.
They are successful and I assumed Basara died or something because he wasn’t present, but was shocked that he slipped away to witness Zolgia’s execution. I am glad to know that Basara is neither naïve nor ignorant to the threat that Zolgia poses.
The ending was happy, but I had a WTF moment when Basara decides to make sure that nobody steals Mio’s chastity. It got funny when Basara snapped to his senses and quickly stopped himself, which makes the scene awkwardly funny.
I laughed hard when Mio forgave Basara as long as he doesn’t stop, but failed to notice Yuki standing right in front of them. This whole scene slowly becomes a borderline softcore porno flick.
The scene gets funnier when Mio was planning to quietly leave with her mother and fade away, but is stopped when Basara exits his room and begs her to resolve the dispute between Mio and Yuki. It was funny as Zest stands in the middle acting apathetic to the entire situation.
I busted in more laughter when Maria kisses Basara to prevent Mio and Yuki from forcing her to choose a side.
The Testament of Sister New Devil wraps up with this episode, but reveals that the second season will air in October as The Testament of Sister New Devil: Burst. It shows that Zest and Kurumi, Yuki’s younger sister, will have bigger roles in the second season.
