Episode four of The Rolling Girls, titled “Dream,” is currently streaming on FUNimation for paid members. Free members can watch this same episode seven days from now on February 7th. The adventure of the unlikely heroines officially starts four episodes in and things are getting exciting as chaos brews within the otaku nation of Comina.
Yukina is revealed to have been an otaku and looked different in the past. I am curious as to why Yukina left Comina and headed to Hiroshi Town and became the newest recruit to join the Hiroshi Town Propellers.
I laughed when Comina is revealed to be a materialistic and twisted version of Akihabara, where the condemned are forced to live the rest of their lives cosplaying as maids and butlers to serve the whims of doujin groups.
The episode gets more interesting as the story becomes apparent that the Bests are no different from the Rest without their heart-shaped moon stones. I kind of figured there was something suspicious on Maccha and Kuniko’s hand-to-hand combat abilities.
I felt bad for Thunderoad because she had to destroy her favorite anime idol to prevent Comina from being destroyed by a bomb.
This episode was interesting to watch because it shed light on the significance of those power stones, which sparks the journey of the titular Rolling Girls. I suspect Chiaya is looking for those stones to gain her mother’s affections, which makes me curious about Haruko’s intentions with them and I sense that something big is going to happen at the end.
I wonder if the Rolling Girls will remain like the Rest or become the Best.
