The CD opens with the versatile “If Anything,” where Summers is instantly able to lure his listeners in to this new studio offering. It is followed by the lengthy yet hypnotic title track “Triboluminescence.” “Adinkra” is more laid-back and mellow, while “Elephant Bird” is sheer perfection, and one of those tracks that this journalist could meditate to.
After “Shadyland,” which has a retro vibe to it, the album immediately breaks into the complex yet sonically-powerful “Haunted Dolls.” Equally distinct is “Gigantopithecus.”
It closes with the mid-tempo yet soaring “Pukul Bunye Bunye” and the gorgeous “Garden of the Sea,” which is the fitting tune to conclude this project with.
The new album will be available for purchase on Amazon.
