Review: The 90’s Band returns to Mulcahy’s for show with 80’s tribute act (Includes first-hand account)

Phil, Bianca, Bobby and Luke were back with all the fan favorite songs of the 90’s. They kicked off their set on a fun note with the rowdy “My Own Worst Enemy” from Lit, while they immediately broke into Third Eye Blind’s “Semi-Charmed Life” with Phil and Bianca’s gentle harmonies. Bianca picked up the pace with Gwen Stefani’s “Just a Girl,” and she subsequently showed some attitude on “Bitch” and Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know.”

The party songs of the night kicked off with Phil rocking out to the Blink-182 classics “All The Small Things,” “What’s My Age Again?” and “Dammit.” With the help of Bianca, they threw some country in the mix with a cover of Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.” Equally neat was a throwback version of Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time.” The theme song of Friends, “I’ll Be There For You” has never sounded better than performed by The 90’s Band in Wantagh. It is always a pleasure to hear Phil sing Oasis’ classic hit “Wonderwall,” where he incorporates it as a duet with the Mulcahy’s audience each time, and they recite the lyrics verbatim.

“The 90’s Band were fantastic last night,” said dedicated fan Denise Cirolia. “They always put on a great show!” she exclaimed.
