Bianca kicked off their set by belting out Alanis Morissette’s feisty “You Oughta Know,” while Phil sang lead on Lit’s “My Own Worst Enemy,” which was a crowd favorite for sure. Bianca tipped her hat to Gwen Stefani and No Doubt with the up-tempo “Just a Girl,” while she harmonized well with Phil on Third Eye Blind’s “Semi-Charmed Life.”
It is a pleasure to hear them sing some classic Blink-182 tunes, including the witty “What’s My Age Again?” and “All The Small Things,” where everybody was reciting the lyrics verbatim. Equally stunning was Bianca’s version of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” and she showed some angst on Meredith Brooks’ “Bitch.” They closed the first half of their set with a haunting rendition of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.”
During the second part of their show, they paid homage to Green Day with “When I Come Around” and “Basket Case,” but perhaps the most fun song was their Barenaked Ladies cover of their smash hit “One Week,” as well as Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” which they incorporated as a crowd sing-along.
The Verdict
Overall, one could always count on The 90’s Band to give high-quality and nostalgic entertainment on a Friday night for 90’s night at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall. They did a solid job, and their show garnered four out of five stars.
