Review: Taylor Momsen honors Chris Cornell with Audioslave’s Like a Stone (Includes first-hand account)

“This one is for Chris,” she said, melancholically. The songstress immediately broke into a haunting, acoustic rendition of “Like a Stone,” which was moving to the point where was able to send chills down the spines of her fans and listeners.

The audience was instantly immersed in this heart-wrenching performance, and they were singing along with her. “Thank you. Good night,” she told her fans, as she clutched both of her hands on her face, drenched in tears.

This marked the first Pretty Reckless concert since they opened for Soundgarden last week in Detroit, Michigan (on the same day at the same show that Chris Cornell died tragically).

The Verdict

Overall, Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless sang with a great deal of heart, and anybody in that crowd could feel the emotion that she poured into this performance. She truly gave it to her all, and she shined in this sensitive situation. Her love for the late Soundgarden front-man was evident, and she paid a beautiful homage with this stirring performance.
