Actress and supermodel Elizabeth Hurley stars in the new Lionsgate thriller “Strictly Confidential,” which was written and directed by Damian Hurley.

Aside from Elizabeth Hurley in the role of Lily, the cast includes Georgia Lock, Lauren McQueen, Freddie Thorp, Genevieve Gaunt, Max Parker, and Llyrio Boateng, among others.

This dramatic film has a devilish twist to it. This marks Damian Hurley’s directorial debut.

The synopsis is: On the anniversary of Rebecca’s (Lauren McQueen) death, Mia (Georgia Lock) returns to the Caribbean paradise where she and her best friend shared her final days.

As Mia sets out to unravel the mysterious events of her passing, old passions rise, new secrets are uncovered and Mia is pulled into a seductive world of sex, betrayal, and murder.

Elizabeth Hurley and Georgia Lock have great chemistry together. The multiple twists and turns will keep the viewers engaged for its entire duration.

Whether they were intentional or not, there are a lot of motifs in “Strictly Confidential” (if one pays close attention to items in the background), and it is rich in symbolism.

Ironically enough, while this is the first full-length movie for Damian Hurley as a director, judging from its quality, artistic direction and his creative vision, one could never tell (and they would think that Damian is a seasoned professional).

The Verdict

Overall, “Strictly Confidential” is an intense, dark, vivacious, and a bumpy adventure. It will certainly keep the audience at the edge of their seats, and at the same time, it will spark some conversations amongst viewers.

Elizabeth Hurley is a revelation as Lily. Lauren McQueen, Genevieve Gaunt, and Georgia Lock (where the viewer can slightly recall the acting work of Keira Knightley) all nail their acting performances in this thriller.

The same holds true for the male actors Freddie Thorp, Llyrio Boateng, and Max Parker respectively.

In fact, everybody in the cast brings something distinct to the table, especially since it fulfills the dramatic ensemble cardinal rule, where every actor is given his or her own unique characterization.

With this movie, Damian Hurley proves to be a rising provocateur as a filmmaker. It has it all: passion, mystery, seduction, deception and murder. Hopefully, this is a harbinger of more great things to come for the future for Damian Hurley.

“Strictly Confidential” is worth more than just a passing glance, and it garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
