Review: Sting and Shaggy release animated video for ‘Just One Lifetime’ (Includes first-hand account)

Their song “Just One Lifetime” is nonchalant and mellow, and it features the rich, crisp vocals of Sting and Shaggy. U.K. based illustrator and animator Judit Boor did a stunning job directing, producing and animating their music video.

“Just One Lifetime” is the sixth track featured on their collaborative studio album, 44/876, which was released in April of 2018 on such record labels as A&M Records, Interscope Records, and Cherrytree Records. Their album title is a reference to the country calling codes for England (44) and Jamaica (876) respectively, which are Sting and Shaggy’s countries of origin.

On September 26, both Grammy-winning musicians will be performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in the Seaport District in New York City.

“Just One Lifetime” is available on iTunes, and on Spotify.

The Verdict

Overall, Sting and Shaggy delight on their new music video for “Just One Lifetime.” It ought to be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity. The lyrics have a neat message to them. “Just One Lifetime” has a laid-back and liberating vibe to it, and both of their voices are as smooth as silk. This song and its music video both earn an A rating.
