Review: Stevie Monce knows how to light a fire with ‘Stay on Fire’ EP (Includes first-hand account)

The five-track collection of songs was co-produced by Stephen Barker Liles from Love and Theft. It will be officially released on Friday, July 13, 2018. It opens with “Sleeping In,” where he displays his raspy vocals, and it is followed by the spitfire title track “Stay on Fire,” which works well as a duet with Rebekah Liles on the project.

“Baby Don’t Leave Me” more mellow and laid-back, and it immediately breaks into the melancholic ballad “More Than a Beer.” It closes with the electrifying “Named This Town You,” which is country-rock at its finest.

This EP chronicles the ups and downs of a relationship from the first meeting, then falling in love, followed by a subsequent break-up, and the sorrows that follow.

Stay on Fire is available for pre-order on iTunes.

The Verdict

Overall, Stevie Monce delivers on his new EP Stay on Fire. Stephen Barker Liles has done a solid job on the EP’s production. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
