Review: Steve Grand soars on new ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ cover (Includes first-hand account)

It is a piano-driven version with a different arrangement from the Mariah Carey original recording, yet Grand is able to do it justice, and introduce this modern Christmas classic to a new generation of fans.

The video for his song was directed and edited by John Lavin. The song was originally penned by Carey and Walter Afansieff, and this version was co-produced by Nicholas M. Block and Steve Grand himself.

Grand shines on lead vocals and piano, and the other instruments such as bass guitar, drums, sleigh bells, tambourine and the strings were performed by his co-producer Nick Block.

The Verdict

As always, Steve Grand sings from the heart and is able to connect well with his audiences. Mariah would be smiling. This warm and heartfelt rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
