Ettinger is a 15-year-old girl from the United States that moved to Shanghai six years ago. She is heartbroken and is able to pour those feelings into her music. This collection is a reflection of the sadness of the Syrian refugee children, and she is challenging all of those feelings in her songs. It was co-produced by Grammy award-winning producer Jeff Bova, as well as Phillip Jarrell and Sevi Ettinger. It was subsequently mixed by Bova and mastered by Bernie Grundman.
The four-track EP opens with the crisp and haunting title cut “Salty Water,” and it is followed by the melodically stunning “Live,” and the sophisticated tune “Don’t Fall Behind,” the latter of which raises social awareness. It closes on a very personal note with the atmospheric ballad, “Eyes,” where her voice is pure as the driven snow.
Her Salty Water EP is available on iTunes, and on Spotify.
