Studio City was created by Sean Kanan and Jason Antognoli, and it was directed by Emmy nominee Timothy Woodward Jr.
Sarah Joy Brown plays Laurie and she is quite convincing as she is reaching out to her brother Sam (Emmy nominee Sean Kanan) for help and support on behalf of their father, Doc (Emmy winner Tristan Rogers). She is the voice of reason for their family, and she tries to persuade Sam to see things her way.
Her scenes are meatier, deeper, and it is great to see that there is more dialogue for Brown in these episodes, which really showcase her abilities and range even further.
She is superb and proves that she is most worthy of an Emmy nomination for her work in Studio City, especially since her bold acting performance runs the gamut, and it will resonate well with fans and new viewers.
The Television Academy ought to give Sarah Joy Brown’s acting in these episodes more than just a passing glance. Brown is one of the most talented and versatile actors of our generation.
These five new episodes of Season 1 of Studio City are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
