Singer and actor Rustin Cole Sailors (“Finding Mr. Christmas” on Hallmark) released his new holiday single “Bury Me in Snow.”
It is upbeat, mid-tempo, and a great deal of fun. Rustin allows his rich, rumbling voice to shine, which is smooth as silk, and reminiscent of traditional pop crooner Michael Bublé. There is something in it for everybody, and it is extremely radio-friendly.
Rustin performed this jubilant holiday tune at the “Finding Mr. Christmas” Season 2 Reunion Special, as a surprise towards the end of the segment, and it was well-received by all.
Interview
On being a part of “Finding Mr. Christmas” Season 2, Rustin said, “It was such an incredible and unique experience. It was amazing! It was definitely a bonding experience with all of the guys and I wouldn’t be able to replicate it.”
On the lessons learned from this “Finding Mr. Christmas” journey, Rustin said, “For me, it taught me that I have a unique aspect of who I am that I can bring into everything that I am doing.”
“Also, I’m never doing myself a disservice by focusing on connecting the most with who I am and what I have to offer because nobody else can do that. If I am trying to be anyone else, I am not going to be authentically myself,” he explained.
“I am trying to do that not just on set, but in my life as well,” Rustin added.
On working with Jonathan Bennett and Melissa Peterman, Rustin said, “It was amazing! Jonathan was such a support structure to us; he helped us connect with each other and ourselves. Melissa brings a grounding and hilarious energy. She is so witty; it’s brilliant.”
Future plans
Regarding his future plans, Rustin revealed, “I am going to pursue acting (film and TV). I am working on some new Christmas music.”
“I just released ‘Bury Me in Snow’ and it’s one of many Christmas songs I have coming out this year and next year. So, I’m going to focus on the writing side of music and getting in front of the camera,” he explained.
