Robbie Amell and the cast returned for the fourth and final season of “Upload,” which is available on Amazon Prime Video.
Aside from Amell, it stars Andy Allo, Kevin Bigley, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, and Owen Daniels.
“Upload” is a sci-fi comedy series from Emmy award-winning screenwriter Greg Daniels.
It is set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm.
Also, forget about dying – instead, you’ll be “uploaded” to a virtual reality afterlife, and enjoy all the comforts of a world-class resort provided that you can afford it.
Robbie Amell commands each and every scene he is in, and he is a revelation, where the audience will be on the edge of their seats as they try to figure out which Nathan survived… the real one or the clone one… and the same holds true for which Nathan gets married.
Amell layers his characters’ complex emotions well as he wrestles with Nathan’s morality. His performance as Nathan is equal in excellence to his acting work in “Racewalkers.”
Andy Allo is appealing as Nora, while Allegra is hilarious as Ingrid (especially in the first episode of Season 4… in the wedding scene as she says her vows). In fact, all the women in this season of “Upload” are badass (in the best possible way) and they kill it!
Kevin Bigley will touch viewers on an emotional level with his diverse acting as Luke, who is witty, bold, and heroic at the same time.
The screenplay fulfills the ensemble cardinal rule, where everyone has their own character development, and it is rich in symbolism if one pays close attention.

The Verdict
Overall, the fourth and final season of “Upload” is an engaging and fitting sendoff for all of these beloved characters, all of which immersed us in their world. It is edgy, daring, and thoroughly entertaining.
Many fans will be moved, while others may be angry (perfectly acceptable reactions given that the franchise is coming to a close). There is bound to be eclectic feelings of nostalgia, melancholy, joy, and euphoria.
While the final season only has four episodes, all of them are high-quality, and each one has its own identity. It is neat to watch the characterization unveil after each episode. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars. Well done.
