Actors Robbie Amell and Leighton Meester star in a new rom-com, which premiered on Friday, November 17 on Amazon Freevee.

The synopsis of “EXmas” is: When Graham (Robbie Amell) decides to surprise his family by traveling home for the holidays he is shocked to discover them already celebrating with an unexpected guest of honor, his ex-fiancée, Ali (Leighton Meester).

The two exes battle it out to see who the family will pick to stay through Christmas Day and who must go. It is one chaotic, bumpy yet fun adventure.

Jonah Feingold did a solid job directing this movie from a screenplay by Dan Steele. Leighton Meester and Robbie Amell have great chemistry together, and they are able to sustain the viewer’s attention for its entire duration. Some of their scenes together are absolutely hysterical.

Robbie Amell is reminiscent of young Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees (with some facial hair), and he delivers a charming and witty performance as Graham; morever, he is able to nail some moving monologues in this movie. Leighton Meester is effervescent as Ali, and they are both able to bring their characters to life.

The Verdict

Overall, this new romantic comedy starring Robbie Amell and Leighton Meester is pleasant, hilarious, and entertaining. Jonah Feingold deserves to be commended for his exceptional direction. This film is bound to resonate with viewers, and it garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
